Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Service Advisor to join our team. The Service Advisor will act as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, ensuring a seamless and efficient service experience. Responsibilities include assessing customer needs, recommending maintenance and repair services, coordinating with technicians, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction & Communication:
- Greet customers warmly and assess their vehicle service needs.
- Listen to customer concerns and explain service options clearly and professionally.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and explain repair timelines.
- Keep customers informed about the status of their vehicles throughout the service process.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Service Coordination & Documentation:
- Schedule service appointments and ensure efficient workflow.
- Document customer concerns and relay them accurately to the service technicians.
- Review repair orders and ensure all services performed are correctly billed.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and vehicle service history.
Technical & Sales Support:
- Recommend preventive maintenance and additional services based on vehicle history and manufacturer guidelines.
- Explain technical information in a way that is easy for customers to understand.
- Promote and upsell service packages, warranties, and parts when appropriate.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with service technicians to ensure timely and accurate vehicle repairs.
- Assist the parts department in identifying and sourcing necessary components.
- Communicate with the service manager about customer concerns or complex issues.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience as a service advisor, automotive service writer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive services and repair procedures.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and customer-friendly manner.
- Proficiency in using service management software and computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
