Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Site Engineer to oversee all aspects of on-site engineering during construction projects. The Site Engineer will coordinate with project management, supervise the site crew, ensure safety compliance, and assist in project planning to deliver projects on time and within budget. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution and Supervision: Oversee daily operations on the construction site, ensuring work is carried out according to approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Site Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient planning and execution of project milestones.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical support to the site crew, solve on-site issues, and make adjustments to designs if necessary, with approval from the Project Manager.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect construction work to ensure it meets required specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Resource Management: Ensure the effective use of materials, labor, and equipment, and maintain accurate records of resource usage.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain daily logs, prepare progress reports, and submit them to the Project Manager. Keep all project documents up to date and accessible.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed on-site, including PPE usage, safe equipment operation, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, and local authorities as needed to address project needs and report progress.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in site engineering or construction management.
- Certifications: Valid certifications in construction safety or project management are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction techniques
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project)
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
